Overview

CIRCOR manufactures flow and motion control products for the world’s most severe-service and mission-critical applications—from valves to instrumentation, actuation to pumps, motors to regulators. While acquiring over 30 disjointed brands, CIRCOR needed a new brand for them all to stand behind. Bold yet simple, we redesigned and redeveloped the site to be more user friendly for their customers. It was important for all users to easily find where/how to buy their products and documentation related to those products. With that in mind, CIRCOR became a site designed to effortlessly search.

Under the guidance of the Executive Creative Director and UX Strategist, we created a bold website that was distinctive from its competitors. This project taught me how to create a brand through a Visual Design System. I also learned how to work in sprints from the Agile methodology, while designing templates based on the UX Strategist’s wireframes.

Style Tile

To get early buy-in for the brand, I presented the stakeholders with style tile options which are essentially mood boards. Doing this early prevented wasting time and resources on full mockups without decided brand design.

Element Collage

After solidifying the initial brand, I explored how that brand would look in individual elements that will be used in the final mockup. This was another stage of buy-in for stakeholders to show our process and approve our progress.

Blocks

The next stage was to build larger components, following the Atomic Design principles these would be organisms. I also presented this to stakeholders for approval in our progress.

Templates

The final stage of our process showing full page mockups. It combines all the elements I designed previously. When we got to this stage, the stakeholder approvals were easy and the following edits were minor.
